Day 16 - Terradillos de Los Templarios to Calzadilla de Los Hermanillos

Man, these titles are getting ridiculously long.

After losing two kilos overnight in a stinking hot dorm room, I rolled out of my bunk, rehydrated, and headed out into the cool morning air. By midday we had reached the city of Sahagún, the town considered the halfway point of the Camino Francés. After a pat on the back, a quick beer, and a tortilla we decided to take the road less traveled, 8.2km of the Via Romana, and arrived at our home for the night, Calzadilla de Los Hermanillos, as a storm that had been threatening finally decided to crack. As the rain fell we claimed our beds and were elated to find sheets and towels! Once the excitement wore off it was a quick shower and down to the bar for my favourite time of the day. Just when I thought that things couldn’t get any better I looked at the telly and quickly realised that Eurovision starts tonight! I’ve got nothing else to say except go, Australia! and go, Malta!

Distance - 26.7km

Difficulty - ⭐️⭐️ & a half/5

Camin-Oh no! - Stinking hot dorm rooms.

Camin-Oh hell yeah! - Red plastic chairs.
