Day 12 - Burgos to Hontanas

...and we ventured into The Meseta. The Boogeyman of The Camino. And it wasn’t that bad. Actually, it was my best day so far. The path was flat, the legs were in good shape and we had a tailwind that pushed us comfortably through lush, rippling green fields for 30km to Hontanas, a hamlet that, unlike most villages along The Camino, was located at the BOTTOM of a hill. This town gets extra points just for that. It loses points however for being the town that WiFi forgot, hence the delay. After a long day, we unwound with beers, Banangrams, burgers, and churros in one of the best albergues so far. Bring on tomorrow.

Distance - 31.5km

Difficulty - ⭐️⭐️ & a half/5

Camin-Oh no! - Inner thigh chafing. I’ve chafed away all the hair on my thighs to the point that it looks like I’ve waxed.

Camin-Oh hell yeah! - Having your first pain-free day after a string of aches and pains.
