Day 3 - Poladura de la Tercia to Llanos de Someron

The past couple of days have been tough, but it seems that they were just a prelude to this.

The morning started with a sexy poncho fashion parade as the drizzle set in. Shades of red, orange, black, and blue slowly made their way up, up, up to Cruz del Salvador. From that point on however it was pretty much down, down, down.

Things were going fairly smoothly until we hit the village of Pajares and the decline went off the charts. At this point, my knee had had enough and gave me grief for the final 5.5km of ups and downs into Llanos de Someron.

Before this though the day was stunningly beautiful once more, as we traversed highlands, rolling green fields full of grazing cattle, pretty little villages, quiet trails alongside winding rivers, and the familiar stunning peaks keeping us company throughout.

I’m sore and a little worse for wear right now after what was a short but tough day, but I would do it all again in a heartbeat; the scenery was just that stunning.
